CHANGING THE ORGANIZATION "In a demanding transformation, I found the knowledge, experience and challenge from Vector invaluable. Each piece of advice or work was tailored to the situation and designed to achieve tangible business results. The business knew from the beginning that they were dealing with a world-class outfit." Roger Flynn, Managing Director, Prudential Retail (UK) Vector has a broad capability in change management, built over 16 years experience in multiple companies and industries around the world. Our approach encompasses the following considerations. CHANGE IS CHANGING In today’s fast-evolving technical and competitive environment, organisational change is no longer about moving towards a new stable state. Instead, our change programmes include the embedding of a change mentality as part of an adaptive culture. DELIVER THE STRATEGY Any recommendations we make, including those related to behavioral change, are dedicated to the achievement of the Business Plan by delivering the strategy. SYSTEMIC AND SYSTEMATIC Vector is firmly rooted in the concepts of System Theory and measurable results. All our activities reflect this basic grounding by being systemic and systematic in nature. Our experience is that isolated initiatives do not achieve a sustained improvement in results. INCREMENTAL AND TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE Our change models recognise the differences between Transformational and Incremental change. While Transformational change does still have, at least on the surface, many of the elements of traditional change management models, there is a major shift of ending in a position of continuous change rather than ending in a new stable state. Incremental or Continuous change is dramatically different. This type of change, once started, must become part and parcel of ongoing management. At this level, change management is now a fundamental management skill in the same frame as planning, budgeting and supervising. It is a daily requirement of routine management at all levels in the organization. DECLARATIVE AND PARTICIPATIVE CHANGE The speed with which any company can plan and implement necessary changes is one of the key factors of getting, keeping and maintaining competitive edge. While participative change is still the ideal the problems with it are twofold; 1. Many changes, such as regulatory changes, are by definition not a participative event, often including penalties for delay or failure to implement effectively within given time frames. 2. Time may not be available to properly involve all those impacted by any change or provide access to all the information and knowledge necessary to enable intelligent discussion and decision-making. Our Declarative Change Model allows statement of the required change with local participation in how that change will be implemented. If you need Intelligent change that also helps create intelligent systems that fit the speed of today’s business, Vector can help.
